Rodenburg Biopolymers is a part of the Rodenburg group which has developed a highly innovative Biodegradable granule Solanyl®, suitable for a wide range of products and applications produced with injection moulding techniques. There are some remarkable features of Solanyl® that are worthwhile to be mentioned. Rodenburg Biopolymers is the first company in the world offering a bio granule close to the price of regular plastics. The high price of many commercially available bioplastics is generally considered to be one of the biggest bottle necks for large scale application so far. The material is based on renewable resources derivated from the potato processing industry. The granule can be processed on existing injection moulding machines using existing moulds with a minimum of adjustments. It is easy to modify the grades of Solanyl® to obtain bio-plastic products with varying rigidity or flexibility properties. Furthermore, depending on the functionality of the final product, the term of degradation of the end product can be controlled. Solanyl® can be colored with biodegradable master batches. We also produce modified potato starch available in small and big quantities Our plant is currently the largest plant in Europe is able to produce an annual amount of around 48.000 metric tons.
